Posted by The Gourmet Box on
The food world has been dominated by Men across the world. Chefs of all the big restaurants and food entrepreneurs are primarily men. We have also grown only watching chefs like Sanjeev Kapoor and Vikas Khanna on television. Very few women chef like Tarla Dalal had their own shows to inspire women to pursue making food as a career.
In the last 2 decades women have made a place for themselves in the food world and they are here to stay. Women have successfully made their mark in the food industry - be it as chefs, entrepreneurs owning multiple chain of restaurants, in the food influncer world and owning sucessful food businesses.
Here are 4 such women in the food world whom we are crushing hard on:
Lawyer by profession, Karishma quit her job to pursue her passion for food. She has a super successful instagram page where she posts her recipes and she also teaches other fellow foodies to cook delicious food. We absolutely love to recreate her recipes as they are easy to make, healthy and super delicious.
Gauri Devidayal a law graduate and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants pursued her career as a tax consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and Mumbai for 8 years. With no previous experience in hospitality, she started helping her husband in setting up The Table in Colaba when the bug of being in the restaurant business bit her. 11 years later, this runs several restaurants and delivery kitchens in the city including The Table, Iktara, Magazine St. Kitchen amongst others like a BOSS.
